About Me

When we discovered that I was 40 years old and pregnant with twin girls, the doctor wrote A.M.A. on my folder.  AMA stands for Advanced Maternal Age.  It also stands for Against Medical Advice.  See the irony in that?

My children are now adults and I’m trying to navigate my place as a human, without a career in front of me and an allegiance to making dinner behind me. This is a path not addressed to my satisfaction and I refuse to go from reading the magazine: Your Teen For Parents, directly to the monthly AARP publication, called what else, AARP (no disrespect meant toward AARP).

When I’m not writing here, I do my best to behave like an adult. I live between NJ and NY where I do most of my mess making.  Did I mention Attention Deficit? I’m currently working a 12 step program for candy crush addicts.  I fall off the wagon daily.

I hope you enjoy my musings, tips, discoveries and who knows what, as much as I enjoy providing them and I truly do wish you everything you wish for yourself,

Helen

Very good idea Helen. I will be following this. You always were a very talented person and now I can see what I’ve missed all these years. I haven’t seen or talked to you since I was about 12 when my family moved out of Cramer Hill and Facebook was our reconnection.

Helen–it was terrific to meet you at the Winter Getaway. I am reading your blogs and am enjoying every one. Love, Marguerite, Cramer Hill
