Gracing my shelf with wisdom and dust
A wealth of knowledge and words I trust.
Many nights I fell asleep
upon the pages, that held deep
insights on history and colors and culture,
I used Volume “V” for my paper on Vultures.
But that was before the internet came
With so much information, I thinks its a shame
that it seems, as though, in the time that IÂ blinked
all of the sudden, you were extinct.
Now there’s google, bing, and yahoo too.
Not mentioned in Britannica of 1982.
Today when I picked you up for a gaze
To smell your worn pages and see how you’ve aged,
It hurts me that I must now give you the boot,
Apple’s a brand, but you say it’s a fruit.
